Overview:
The Brain, the inpatient task management interface, is a key feature for managing patient tasks and other orders. For users with very little experience, it is an intimidating feature to understand, yet become proficient in. Creating an in-depth resource, such as a tip sheet, allows users to reference multiple granular parts, or to review the tip sheet as a whole.
Inside this handout are multiple facets of The Brain. These features include understanding the layout, adding patients to the list through an assignment, understanding the icons and tasks, and customization of The Brain, such as adding personal or independent user tasks and auto-condensing lists to see all of the assignments.
Outcomes:
Users report that they find this handout useful, as it helps them to stay organized in a highly stressful and rapidly changing environment. This resource, whether available physically or digitally, is a confidence booster that allows users to gain a greater understanding of appropriate use and also how to optimize the care for their patients.
